4.29.20 - Final Prep days before our 5.1.20 launch

There is a lot going on right now as our team here has been working well into those am hours every night trying to make sure everything is ready to rock for our launch day. We are excited, and of course nervous about everything. None of us has ever launched a PC Company before, so we don’t know exactly what to expect. We hope to at least sell SOMEthing on our first official day of being “open.”

We have been having a lot of argumen… err… discussions about exactly which components to include in various models across the product line. NVidia and AMD are currently in a major price war slugfest in the mid-level GPU segment right now, and there’s a lot of back and forth about which video cards are the best value at a few different price points. Prices have been changing several times daily in some cases, so it has been crazy trying to pick what’s best. We’ve made several changes just since yesterday due to prices coming down. Overall that will be a plus for our customers.

Larry and Matt have been busy benchmarking various build configurations, and TJ has been plugging away on getting all the payment processors integrated and all the website content up and going. We’re also trying to figure out the most efficient way to divvy up who’s going to be on call when for tech support, etc. It’s a lot for us, but it’s really exciting to see it all coming together - even if it is a little messy in some aspects.

We figured this photo of TJ’s kids invading his home office was the perfect image to capture how we’re feeling right now - like some kids who don’t really have everything figured out right this second but are definitely into whatever they’re watching. The reality is that these kids are really the reason why we’re trying to build this company, so you’re probably looking at our first ever Board Meeting. Our youngest executive is definitely into it! Well… time to stop blogging and get back to the prep.
